An Amanda Michalka Fansite

This news broke last Friday, and just in case anyone hasn’t yet heard, it looks like Aly & AJ have broken their last official ties with Disney and have left Hollywood Records!

From the way they framed it their mass email message, it sounds like they’re happy to be out of that contract and free to pursue another record deal so they can have more creative control.

Sounds a lot like when Aly and her mom walked away from Phil of the Future for a new show with AJ that eventually never happened.

The Michalkas really really need to stop biting the hand that feeds them. Why not release the third album with Hollywood, make a good deal of money from it, and then shop for a new record deal while riding the wave of that album?

I obviously don’t know all the details, but something here just doesn’t add up.

Anyway, here’s the message from the girls, if you haven’t read it already:

Hey guys"¦so we know it’s been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first.

Now that it’s official, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next.

So"¦what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But"¦we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.

We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes"¦major bummer. But we’ll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being.

Aly and AJ need to make more public appearances so I don’t have to dig back to 2008 to find a new photoset.

That said, the Michalka sisters are really looking good here!

Aly’s sporting some serious cleavage in that dress of hers.

And AJ’s dress really accentuates her bust.

I know they had sexed it up a little for the Lovely Bones Premiere, but these are pretty amazing too!

Aly & AJ recently made a rare public appearance at premiere of The Lovely Bones, in which AJ has a minor role.

My favorite Michalka, as usual, looked amazing.

I did really like AJ’s dress though.

Aly and AJ certainly have a talent for “family friendly sexiness.” I know, that sounds a little counter-intuitive, but just look at their costumes!

I have never seen a Ladybug like that!

Although it does kinda bug me a little that AJ’s “sexy jockey” outfit is partially promotion for her new movie.

Oh look, AJ found a horse to ride!

LOL.

Hey Aly what are you working on next? Is it music or a movie project?

Definitely working on music next. We just finished our new album. We finally finished in the last month. It will come out in the next few months. AJ and I have worked hard producing it and we hope you guys our fans will love it too.

Hi Aly! You are so cool! Do you like fashion and do you have a boyfriend?

Aww Thanks! I love fashion. Fashion is a huge part of being a female. I think it’s very important to have your own sense of style. Boyfriend? No not yet, just being patient for one to come along. I think it’s best when you don’t look for one.

hey aly i cant wait to see band slam it looks amazing. Im a huge fan. I love singer and want to be a famous singer too! have you got any tips on how hopefully i can get recognised or how to improve myself ?

Thats so sweet! I love you too. Main thing to focus on is taking lessons and practice. Make sure you go to classes. Make sure you go where there are scouts. Most important thing is to be passionate to your music. The fame and the money is not that important it’s making music to inspire people.

what is the strangest dish that you have ever eaten??

Probably escargot, but I find it very delicious, especially when it has butter and garlic.

Hi Aly :] I’m really excited to see you in Band Slam! I was wondering if you are planning to star in any new movies anytime soon?

I have 2 movies coming out next year. They are called Easy A with Emma Stone and The Roommate withe Leighton Meester. I am really excited about those movies, and I just finished those in the last couple of movies. It was cool to be able to play other characters.

Wasn’t that absolutely thrilling? I  found it interesting at least.

I love the updates that Aly & AJ give us. All of the hottest pictures seem to be posted by themselves these days!

I had kinda wanted to watch the Teen choice Awards before I made a post about them, but at my current pace, it’d be 2010 before I commented! LOL

Anyway, my favorite girl, Ashley Tisdale was there, and she was looking fabulous.

Miley has taken to showing off her legs. No complains here.

I believe I’ve mentioned Aly Michalka and Vanessa Hudgen’s new movie Bandslam before. But I wanted to share the movie poster with you all.

I’m gonna have to see this one, even if only to see Aly and V together. It comes out August 14th.

Speaking of Aly, I also just learned that she’s shooting a movie with Emma Stone called Easy A in Ojai, Calif.

In the movie, a clean-cut high school student, Olive (Stone), relies on the school’s rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing. Aly plays Olive’s pal Rhiannon. The flick is set to premiere in 2010.
