All About Amanda
Amanda Joy Michalka, often credited as AJ, was born April 10, 1991. Her mother, Carrie, is a musician and performed with JC Band, a Christian band.
Amanda grew up in Seattle, Washington and Southern California. Amanda has been playing the piano since she was four and started playing the guitar in her early teens. She started acting when she was seven years old, mostly in church play productions. She was a model for catalogs. In March 2006, she made her Disney Channel debut in the Disney Channel Original Movie Cow Belles, as "Courtney Callum", along with sister Aly, as "Taylor Callum". .She has also made appearances on shows such as Oliver Beene, Six Feet Under, The Guardian, and General Hospital.[7][8][9][10] She has also appeared with her sister, Aly, in the MTV movie, Super Sweet 16: The Movie. AJ is also featured in the upcoming Peter Jackson film The Lovely Bones, which is set to be released January 15, 2010.
AJ and her sister have released a total of three albums (including one Christmas album): Into the Rush (2005), Acoustic Hearts of Winter (2006), and Insomniatic (2007). A new album is expected to be released in the early 2010 under their new band name, 78violet.
